Teaching and Grief
Megan Icenogle

Teaching for Thought
I spent 27 years in the classroom, a variety of grade levels and situations. I have been tangled in the world of grief for about the same number of years. My approach to any situation is research and reflection. Teaching requires a patience and understanding and curiosity about others, and grief asks for that patience and understanding to be turned towards yourself.
I hope to prod thinking and possibility on both topics. Really, I hope that my experiences can be of service in any way. The love and connections at the base of both teaching and grieving are the base of everything. A strange combination, but it’s what I know.
